2003 gewann er einen Grammy, 2004 erhielt er die Auszeichnungen Fiddle Player of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year und Top 10 Album of The Year. Mit „Blanco Country" möchte an diese Erfolge anknüpfen. Mit Leuten wie Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, Doug Sahm stand er schon zusammen auf der Bühne. Einladungen erhielt er zu den Austin City Limits, in die Grand Ole Opry oder zur TNN Prime Time, um mal nur einige zu nennen. Sein aktuelles Album „Blanco Country" umfasst insgesamt 14 Songs, die alle auf Western-Swing basieren.
