Waylond Arnold Jennings wurde am 15. Juni 1937 in Littlefield, Texas, geboren. Waylond Jennings ist der Archetypus des Country-Music Outlaws schlechthin. 1958 und 1959 tourte er als Bassist mit Buddy Holly, der auch dafür verantwortlich war das Waylons seine ersten Aufnahmen produzieren konnte. Im März 1965 wurde er bei RCA Nashville unter Vertrag genommen. Seine unerschütterliche Anti-Establishment Haltung und sein Einzelgängertum machten ihn zu einem der profiliertesten und produktivsten Künstler des Genres. Mitte der 70er Jahre wurde Waylon zum größten Aushängeschild der ‚Outlaw'-Bewegung – einer Gruppe von Sängern und Liedermachern, die vom Mainstream-Country-Music nicht gerade begeistert waren. Der Grammy-Gewinner brachte eine neue, eigene Dimension in das Country-Songwriting. 1985 starteten Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash und Kris Kristofferson das Quartett The Highwaymen. Aus dem Projekt entstand das Album „Highwayman", welches ein Nr.-1-Country-Album wurde. 1990 folgte ‘Highwayman 2' und 1995 „The Road Goes On Forever". Doch Waylond Jennings war auch bekannt für seine zeitlosen, gefühlvollen und oft gefährlich ehrlichen Geschichten über die Liebe und den Hass. Auf LOVE SONGS ist die ganze Bandbreite seiner bemerkenswerten Moritaten versammelt. 14 Tracks , darunter "Amanda", "Waltz Me To Heaven" und "Didn't We Shine". Als Highlight findet sich der Song „Storms Never Last" wieder auf dem Album. Diesen Song sang Waylon Jennings im Duett mit Jessi Colter.

Waylon Arnold Jennings, born on June 15th 1937 in Littlefield, Texas is plainly the original mold of country music outlaws. In 1958 an 1959 he toured as bass player with Buddy Holly who actually is responsible for Waylon’s chance to bring out his first recordings. In March of 1965 he signed with RCA Nashville. His unshakable anti-establishment and maverick attitude made him one of the most distinguished and productive artists of this genre. In the mid 70s he became the figure head of the ‘outlaw ’-movement, a group of singers and songwriters who weren’t actually avid about mainstream country music. The Grammy winner brought his own new dimension into country song writing and in 1985 he started the quartet The Highwaymen along with Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. The album ‘Highwayman’ emanated from this project, which then became a no. 1 album, followed by ‘Highwayman2’ in 1990 and "The Road Goes On Forever" in 1995. but Waylon was also known for his timeless, emotional and oftentimes dangerously honest stories about love and hate. ‘Love Songs’ convenes the entire variety of his remarkable street ballads. "Amanda", "Waltz Me To Heaven" and "Didn't We Shine" can be found among the 14 tracks and as a highlight the song „Storms Never Last". This is one of the songs he sang as a duet with Jessie Colter.
