Ende der Fünfziger kam Ronnie Hawkins wie ein Tornado über Amerika. Für ihn stand immer der Ursprung des Rock 'n' Roll im Vordergrund. Amerika selber war auf einen Mann wie Ronnie Hawkins nicht vorbereitet, so dass er erst nach Kanada umsiedeln musste um den Respekt zu erhalten, den er sich verdient hatte.
