Eigentlich ist das Album „Billy And The Kid" nicht von Billy Joe Shaver und irgendwie doch. Die Geschichte hinter dem Album ist eine sehr traurige. 1999 verlor Billy Joe Shaver gleich drei Menschen, die er sehr liebte. Seine Mutter - Victory Shaver -, Frau - Brenda Shaver - und seinen Sohn - Eddy Shaver -. Von Eddy Shaver ist eigentlich das Album, welches elf Songs enthält. Billy Joe Shaver gezeichnet von so vielen Schickskahlschlägen machte das einzig Richtige. Er verarbeitete sein Kummer und fing an das Album seines verstorbenen Sohnes zu beenden. Die Lieder sind ein Mix aus hartem Rock, Blues und Country. Es ist kein Mainstream Album, sondern eher etwas zum Zuhören und Verstehen. Besonders einfühlsam ist der Song „Fame", der aus der Feder von Billy Joe Shaver stammt, und das ganz besondere Verhältnis zwischen Eddy und ihm aufzeigt.

The Album „Billy And The Kid"is kind of not from Billy Joe Shaver but kind of it is. The Story behind the Album is a very sad one. In 1999 Billy Joe Shaver lost three people that he loved very much. His mother - Victory Shaver -, wife - Brenda Shaver - and his son - Eddy Shaver -. The Album, which contains eleven Songs, is actually from Eddy Shaver. Billy Joe Shaver hit hard from all his fate, did the only right thing. He worked with his fate and finished his Sons Album. The Songs are a mix of Hard Rock, Blues and Country. It is no Mainstream Album, more something to listen and to understand. Especially the Song „Fame" that was written from Billy Joe Shaver, shows the special relation between Eddy and him.
